Number of women voters increases slightly

ECP says figure of total voters in the country goes up by 5%

ISLAMABAD:

The total number of registered voters in the country has increased by 5% to 118.22 million while the gap between the male and female voters narrowed slightly to 12.37 million from last year’s 12.72 million.

According to the statistical data released by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday, the total number of registered voters in the country reached 118.22 million, of which, 65.3 million are male and 52.92 million female.

Last year, the total number of voters came in at 112.39 million.

The total number of registered voters in Punjab rose to 67.5 million from last year’s 64.35 million. In the largest province of the country, population wise, 37 million male voters were recorded and 30.52 female.

The number of total registered voters in Sindh also witnessed an increase by reaching 24.94 million as against last July’s 23.64 million. The province has 13.75 male voters and 11.19 female.

Likewise, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa also registered a rise in the number of voters. It recorded 19.96 million voters as against 18.95 million in July 2020. The number of male voters was recorded at 11.27 million and female 8.69 million.

The number of registered voters in Balochistan increased slightly to 4.91 million from 4.63 million. The voters include 2.81 million male and 2.15 million female.

Similarly, in the federal capital, the number of registered voters is 876,974, which is slightly higher than last year’s 803,538 voters. Islamabad has 462,445 male and 414,529 female voters.

The ECP has asked the voters to verify their vote registration by sending their CNIC number to 8300 through SMS. They can also get Forms 21, 22 or 23 from the offices of the registration officers in all districts.
