282 new Covid cases reported in 24 hours in Sindh

Authorities report that no death had occurred in the province

KARACHI:

The Sindh authorities reported that no death had occurred in the province because of Covid-19. The authorities, however, said that 282 new cases were reported in the 9,140 tests conducted.

A statement issued here on Sunday from CM House said that to date the number of death from Covid was 4,491. It stated the 282 cases reported constituted a three percent current detection rate. He added that so far 3,271,748 tests had been conducted against which 264,888 cases were diagnosed, of which 96.6 percent or 255,769 patients had recovered, including 98 patients recovering overnight.

At present 4,682 patients were under treatment, of which 4,337 patiemts were in home isolation, eight patients were in isolation centres and 283 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 250 patients was stated to be critical, including 38 shifted to ventilators.

Of the 282 new cases, 113 were detected in Karachi. The district-wise statistics are as follows: 50 from East, Hyderabad 35, Larkana 26, South 24, Malir 16, Korangi 12.

Mirpurkhas reported eight cases, Ghotki, Tando Mohammad Khan and Central Karachi seven cases each, Tando Allahyar and Umarkot six cases each, Khairpur five cases, Naushero Feroze, Sujawal and West four cases each, Badin, Jacobabad, Qamber-Shahdadkot and Shikarpur three cases each.

Jamshoro, Sanghar and Nawabshah reported two new cases reported.
