16 killed in 875 road crashes

At least 16 persons were killed in 875 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) in all 36 districts of Punjab during the past 24 hours.

According to the data shared by Rescue 1122, as many as 1,012 other victims sustain injuries in these crashes. Out of the total injured, 615 victims were seriously injured who were shifted to different hospitals whereas 381 minor injured victims were treated at the incident site by Rescue 1122 Medical Teams.

The majority, around 62 per cent, involved motorcycles. Furthermore, the analysis showed that 344 drivers, 39 underage drivers, 191 pedestrians, and 477 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic crashes.

The statistics showed that 266 RTCs were reported in Lahore which affected 274 persons, placing the provincial capital at the top of the list, followed by 91 in Faisalabad with 103 victims and Gujranwala at third with 57 RTCs and 64 victims.

The details further revealed that 1,012 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 827 male and 185 female victims. The age group of the victims showed that 206 were under 18 years of age.
