Bollywood veteran Paresh Rawal tests positive for Covid-19

'Hera Pheri’ star urged everyone who had been in close proximity to him to get tested

Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal is the latest celebrity to have tested positive for the novel coronavirus. He informed his fans and followers over micro-blogging site Twitter on Friday about the tragic news, reported Hindustan Times.

Unfortunately, I have tested positive for COVID-19. All those that have come in contact with me in the last 10 days are requested to please get themselves tested.

Taking the announcement to social media, the 65-year-old requested everyone who came in contact with him to get tested. “Unfortunately, I have tested positive for Covid-19,” he began in the post. “All those that have come in contact with me in the last 10 days are requested to please get themselves tested.”

Several fellow co-stars and industry friends, including Anupam Kher, Ranvir Shorey and Ashoke Pandit, wished Rawal a speedy recovery. Kher tweeted, “Get well soon, my friend Paresh Rawal. Love and prayers always!” whereas Shorey added, “Wish you a speedy recovery, Sir!"

Film-maker Pandit said, "Praying for your speedy recovery, Paresh bhai. Get well soon,” with another Bollywood star Rahul Dev also sent prayers under the original tweet.

In recent news, other celebrities such as Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Kartik Aaryan, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Manoj Bajpayee, Milind Soman, among others, have contracted coronavirus. Whereas, others including Sanjay Dutt, Dharmendra, Salman Khan and Neena Gupta have received their first doses of the vaccine till now.
