The Pride of Performance is my most special accolade: Humayun Saeed

Despite the amount of honours bestowed upon him, the superstar explained why this trophy would be his most precious

On March 23, President Dr Arif Alvi conferred civil awards on prominent personalities in recognition of their services to different fields including medicines, education, social services, fine arts and even for showing gallantry in the war against terrorism and during the coronavirus pandemic.

During the investiture ceremony held at the President's House to celebrate Pakistan Day, the President conferred the Pride of Performance on Humayun Saeed, Resham and Sakina Samo, along with singers Abida Parveen and Ali Zafar, while Bushra Ansari and Zeba Shehnaz were honoured with the Sitara-i-Imtiaz.

Following this, many took to social media to congratulate the stars while the likes of Mahira Khan, Adnan Siddiqui, Shaan Shahid and Khalilur Rehman Qamar lauding Saeed. #HumayunSaeedPrideOfPakistan was also a top trend on the micro-blogging site.

Seeing this, Saeed took to his social media to pen an extremely emotional note of gratitude. “All praise belongs to Allah. I am extremely, very grateful and humbled by all the messages of love and adulation I have been receiving,” he wrote.

“Thank you so much my beloved fans, friends and family for your constant support and encouragement,” added the Meray Paas Tum Ho star. Despite the amount of honours bestowed upon him, the superstar explained why this trophy would be his most precious. “The Pride of Performance is my most special accolade for it is recognition by the State. I have always firmly believed that being Pakistani is my only true identity and I have tried my utmost best to make Pakistan proud,” Saeed wrote.

“Any award that Pakistan gives to me will always remain closest to my heart. I will Insha’Allah work even harder and do everything in my capacity to serve our beloved country. I, once again, in all humility, thank each and every one of you for your love. I am overwhelmed beyond words,” he concluded.

Taking to Twitter earlier, Qamar, who is known for his troublesome statements, shared, “After a very long time, I see Pride of Performance being given to a deserving person. You really are one of those few [actors], so congratulations to you Humayun Saeed from the core of my heart."
