ISLAMABAD:

It is often said that a picture speaks a thousand words and history is best captured and etched in memories by pictures of historical significance.

It is with this thought in mind that a two-day exhibition was organised by the Directorate of Electronic Media and Publications (DEMP), the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, which concluded on Wednesday.

The two-day exhibition, organised in collaboration with the Nazria-e-Pakistan Council, was inaugurated by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader and Information Minister Senator Shibli Faraz at the Fatima Jinnah Park F-9.

The exhibition highlighted pictures that depicted the trials and tribulations of our founding fathers in their struggle for the creation of Pakistan. Such exhibitions serve as a reminder to our progeny to realise the value of liberty and honour the memories of our forebears in their struggle for a separate homeland for Muslims of the subcontinent.

It also reimbues or rekindles the spirit of Unity, Faith and Discipline the cherished values envisioned by the beloved Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Over 100 rare photographs and paintings of Father of the Nation, and other prominent leaders of the Pakistan Movement, besides chronology of events leading to the creation of Pakistan, were displayed in the exhibition.

The photographs and painting sketches were prepared by the Art and Design Section of DEMP. The artists who prepared these photographs and paintings include Waseem Akhtar, M Iftikhar and Mazhar Alam.
