Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah along with his cabinet members visited the mausoleum of founder of the nation — Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah — on the occasion of Pakistan Day.

The day was celebrated across the country with national zeal and fervour to commemorate the Pakistan Resolution that was passed on March 23, 1940 in Lahore.

Pakistan Navy band also performed at the Quaid’s mausoleum to mark the occasion.

They offered Fateha and laid the floral wreath and also recorded their impressions on visitors’ book.

To mark the day, a number of programmes were also organised throughout the city by different educational, social and government organisations.

It was a public holiday across the province and all the celebrations were organised in compliance with all the standard operating procedures (SOPs) against coronavirus.

The day was dawn with 21-gun-salute in the provincial capital while special prayers were also offered in mosques and homes for the progress, prosperity and the integrity of Pakistan.

The Directorate of Electronic Media & Publication (DEMP) also organised the Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah Photograph Exhibition at the University of Karachi.
