Pakistan’s newest communication satellite is to be launched on Thursday night by the China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC) from the Xichang satellite launch centre in Sichuan province, The Express Tribune has learnt.
General Manager of the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) Ghulam Murtaza said that a team of Pakistani engineers has been going back and forth to China over the past few months in connection with the project.
He added that a Suparco team has also joined them in Sichuan to witness the satellite launch.Preparations have been made to telecast live the proceedings of the satellite launch to the headquarters of Suparco in Karachi, expected to begin at 9pm on Thursday Pakistan.
