QUETTA:

The Balochistan Bar Council (BBC) has challenged the February 11 order of the Supreme Court wherein Justice Qazi Faez Isa was asked not to hear cases related to Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The BBC through its counsels Hamid Khan and Munir Kakar filed a review petition against the apex court’s decision in the PM funding case.

The court in its order observed that it would not be proper for Justice Isa to hear the matter considering that he had already filed a petition against the premier in his personal capacity.

"Therefore, to uphold the principle of un-biasness and impartiality, it would be in the interest of justice that the honourable judge should not hear matters involving the Prime Minister of Pakistan,” said a five-page order.

The review petition stated that it had been a consistent jurisprudence in the country that the judges of the superior courts are “keeper of their own conscience”.
