Newbie Games Company has launched "Evil Corp: The Board Game," in which players battle it out against their fellow tech billionaires in an effort to save the world.

The game was created by UK-based activist Alfie Dennen with the intention to raise awareness against the downsides of Big Tech and protest against the fierce power play employed by technology behemoths, reports Business Insider.

The game was launched on Kick Starter in 2018 and was able to raise £25,088 funds exceeding the pledged goal of £15,600.

Evil Corp’s theme is similar to monopoly, the creators describe the characters as "evil billionaires."

Players step into the shoes of tech giants in a game of nasty business dealings, broken promises, and compromised ethics, according to the company. Up to six players can play at a time and each takes on the character of six CEOs: the Visionary, the Expansionist, the Technocrat, the Savant, the Utopian, and the Oligarch.

Evil Corp hints that the character called “Visionary” is based on Tesla CEO Elon Musk because the game card reads “First, we take Mars”. Musk is also the chief executive of Space X, an American aerospace manufacturer, and space transportation services company.

During the earlier days of crowdfunding, the company reached out to Musk on Twitter asking if he would like a copy of the game. Musk replied saying “Great name. A little on the nose.”

Rests of the characters are reportedly based on Amazon CEO Jeff Bezo and LinkedIn cofounder Reid Hoffman.

Players will have a research and development team, they will be building a prototype app and then release a “killer app”.

The main goal of Evil Corp is to save the world, at the end of the game players will think differently about the role technology is playing in shaping our cultures and society.

Once you have completed the game you can visit a URL on the back of their character card to find out how your decisions have impacted humanity.

Evil Corp costs $70 and is available to buy on the game's website.
