Target killings: Four people gunned down in Balochistan

QUETTA: Two labourers from Sindh rural areas were gunned down by unidentified gunmen in Turbat on Wednesday, a senior police officer told The Express Tribune.

Attackers riding motorcycles targeted the victims as they were on their way to the Turbat bazaar. All of the deceased, identified as Ghulam Yasin and Abdul Razziq, were working at a construction site in Malikabad. Both belonged to Kandhkot.

“The motive behind the killing could not be ascertained, but police are trying to arrest the culprits involved in this heinous crime,” said Abdul Latif, a local police officer.

Meanwhile, two people, including a school teacher, were killed and two others injured in separate incidents of firing in Quetta. A schoolteacher, identified as Abdul Karim, was gunned down in the Kechi Baig area on the Saryab road.

Another man was gunned down and two others sustained injuries near the western bypass area over a land dispute. Eyewitness reports said that the attackers were all wearing masks when they barged into the house of Abdul Manan and opened fire on him. Manan died on the spot while two others sustained injuries. The deceased and injured were taken to Civil Hospital. The injured were identified as Mohammad Ishaq and Abdul Qayyum.

I still don't understand why baloch feel they are most deprive people. I think right now every single person from Karachi to hunza is deprive of basic needs like water, electricity and cost of food is way too much to survive. I do agree everyone should be treat equally and fairly but some people from Balochistan leaderships continue blackmailing government from last 60 years. They got lot of money and subsidies on daily necessities but unfortunately never gave or transfers this to ordinary baloch citizens, now we seeing that effects over there.

hassan khan | 13 years ago | Reply they are killing innocent labourers because they have to show progress to their indian agents , otherwise they dont get money and salary. they dont have courage or ghairat to face armed men or armed forces. so poor labourers are easy targets. because if when they kill poor labourers the law enforcement agencies also dont take any action...so kill the labourers.....
