Two bullet-riddled bodies found in North Waziristan

Youth had been whisked away a few days ago

MIRANSHAH:

Two more bullet-riddled bodies have been found in the Darpa Khel area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan district in what appears to be yet another targeted attack in the district.

In a separate incident in the same area a shepherd was left seriously injured when he stepped on a land mine in Darpa Khel.

Police told The Express Tribune that two young men who had been whisked away a few days ago were found dead in Darpa Khel. The unfortunate men were identified as Habibullah and Shafqatullah.

Locals informed police about the presence of the corpses who shifted them to Miranshah hospital for autopsy.Later the families received the bodies for burial.

In another incident a man, identified as Dawar Gul, was seriously injured when a land mine he stepped on exploded.His leg was fractured and he was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. He was herding his sheep in the mountains. His condition was stated to be stable at the hospital now.

Police said that they had started investigation in the target killing incidents and an FIR had been registered.

Local people are often murdered in targeted attacks by unidentified masked men in broad daylight. Killing people after kidnapping is also widespread in the area.

On Sunday the local administration imposed section 144 under which pillion riding was banned after several incidents in which the attackers used bikes.
