Reinvestigation ordered in Capt Safdar case

Captain Safdar and PML-N workers accompanying him damaged the protective grill of Mazar-e-Quaid

KARACHI:

A local court directed the investigation SSP to reinvestigate the case pertaining to the lodging of an FIR against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leaders Captain (retd) Safdar and Maryam Nawaz by Quaid-e-Azam Management Board.

East Judicial Magistrate was hearing the case pertaining to dishonouring of the Quaid's mausoleum .

The court directed investigation SSP to submit a report by March 25 after reinvestigating the case. According to the complainant, Captain Safdar and PML-N workers accompanying him damaged the protective grill of Mazar-e-Quaid.

Separately, a local court directed the police to submit the final challan pertaining to the gang-rape of a 13-year-old girl.

East Judicial Magistrate Shafqat Hussain Solangi was hearing the case at Karachi City Court.

According to the challan, the involvement of the wives of the accused in the rape has been established in the investigation.

The victim has stated that the wives of Asfandyar and Intezar, incited the rape as they provoked their husbands to rape her. She claimed that Bakht Zeba and Laila sent Adil to her room, where he raped her.

The challan states both women and Adil, who are on the run, have also been nominated as accused and the DNA samples acquired from the victim and arrested accused have been sent to the laboratory.

The court sought final challan of the case at the next hearing.
