‘Model Bazaars to be set up in every tehsil of province’

Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal said people were getting essential items at subsidised rates

ISLAMABAD:

In a meeting held under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal in the committee room of Industries Department on Saturday, progress on the project of establishing new model bazaars was reviewed.

Addressing the meeting, Iqbal said people were getting essential items at subsidised rates in 32 model bazaars and every step would be taken to provide relief to people reeling under the burden of inflation. He said that the establishment of new model bazaars will provide relief as well as create new employment opportunities for the people. “These bazaars will be set up at every tehsil of the province.”

Adequate parking and other requisite facilities will be ensured in new model bazaars which will be environment friendly according to the specific environment of the area, he added.

Iqbal directed the relevant officials to get the approval of the structure of new model bazaars from the industry department. He ordered them to accelerate the pace of work on the project of establishing new model bazaars.
