Sitara Ayaz withdraws in favour of BAP candidates on eve of Senate polls
Former Awami National Party (ANP) Senator Sitara Ayaz, who recently joined the Balochistan Awami Party, withdrew her nomination papers on Tuesday for the March 3 Senate elections in favour of other BAP candidates.
While speaking to the media alongside Chief Minister Jam Kamal and Parliamentary Secretary for Health Dr Rubaba Buledi, she said that it was an honour for her to be nominated by BAP for the Senate general seat.
"All the members of the party including the party president and Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan honored me," she said, adding, "I am withdrawing in favour of the candidates from Balochistan who want to contest in the Senate elections.”
Sitara also said that she did not want to cause any problems within the party because of her. “Jam Kamal and everyone else would have voted for me but I felt that I should leave this seat for my brothers.”
Speaking on the occasion, CM Kamal said all political parties make decisions based on arising political issues. “Sitara kept thinking for the party and opted to resign if there were any contradictions in the party because of her.”
We are committed to make the party active not only in Balochistan but all over the country, he added.
