Iran hands over 68 Pakistanis

Previously detained for travelling without valid travel documents

TAFTAN:

The Iranian authorities handed over 68 Pakistanis to Taftan Levies Administration at the Pak-Iran border town of Taftan on Sunday.

All the citizens were arrested in a major operation by Iranian security forces in different cities of Iran. They were detained for travelling without valid travel documents. Mir Elahi Baksh Notezai, the in-charge of Taftan transit gate, received all the detainees after they were screened for the prevailing coronavirus by the paramedic staff.

Out of these Pakistani nationals, 11 hail from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 46 from Punjab, 10 from Sindh and one from Balochistan. 18 persons who did not possess Pakistani national identity cards were handed back to Iran by the Levies administration.
