Known for his peculiar fashion statements, Ali Xeeshan and his wife Myra welcomed their first child on Tuesday. The fashion guru took it to Instagram to introduce the newest addition to the family: a baby boy.
Xeeshan began the post with an adorable family collage of the trio and captioned it, “So which of the favours of your Lord would you deny? (Surah Ar Rehman Ayah 13). Everyone, God has blessed us with a baby boy. Meet Jansher Ali.” He concluded with hashtag #HumaraBeta.
Pictures of an underage bride draped in a gorgeous wedding ensemble, laden in heavy jewelry, pulling a cart-load of dowry with her groom sitting on top went viral on social media earlier this week.
The vision first made its way to Bridal Couture Week as part of an exhibit by Xeeshan. The designer, via his latest collection Numaish, raised awareness against the relentless custom of dowry. His exhibit was in collaboration with the UN Women's Jahez Khori Band Karo campaign and made waves on Twitter because of its reality checks.
His depiction of a social issue caused mixed reactions online; some lauded the designer for raising concerns over dowry, others criticised him for the luxurious price-tags on his collection.
