Mureed Abbas murder accused indicted

Separate indictment also issued against accused for charges pertaining to possession of weapons and murder.

KARACHI:

A sessions court hearing the Mureed Abbas murder case in Central Jail Karachi on Saturday indicted the prime suspect, Atif Zaman. A separate indictment was issued against the accused for the charges pertaining to possession of weapons and murder.

Atif Zaman, however, denied the charges levelled against him, over which, the court issued notices to the witnesses summoning them on the next hearing on March 6.

According to police, Zaman allegedly shot Mureed Abbas dead on July 9, 2019.

Woman sent to jail

The Judicial Magistrate South sent a woman identified as Sawera to jail for judicial remand in a case pertaining to the murder of four people including a woman, who was a TikToker.

The police presented Sawera, in court. The court sent Sawera to jail for judicial remand and directed the police to submit the case challan in 14 days.

According to police, Sawera was in a dispute with the deceased TikToker, Muskan. The prime suspect in the case, Rehman, is on the run currently.
