The first teaser of Mahira Khan's Barwaan Khiladi is finally here and it looks promising! Starring Danyal Zafar, Kinza Hashmi and vlogger Shahveer Jafri in pivotal roles, the web series seems intriguing to say the least.
The minute-long clip begins with Shahveer as Jahangir and is then focused mainly on Danyal's character. There seems to be obvious friction between the two leads as swinging bats change into swinging fists in a matter of seconds. We see action, we see cricket and we also momentarily see Kinza in the teaser as well.
Sarmad Khoosat plays the role of the coach while Saba Faisal portrays a worried mother. Barwaan Khiladi promises emotions, action and much more with its first teaser. The web series also marks the debut of superstar Mahira's foray into production. Earlier, while talking to Gulf News about dipping her toes into production, the Verna actor said, "I’ve always been inclined to getting behind the camera, always wanted to direct or produce."
When asked why she opted for Tapmad to stream her debut web series instead of platforms like ZEE5 and Amazon Prime, Mahira questioned, "Why not Tapmad?" She continued, "I wanted my first to be on a Pakistani platform. I would love to produce for Zee or Amazon or Netflix, but I also feel we need to empower our local OTT platforms. Hopefully, this will start a trend of local content being made for local online platforms."
Baarwan Khiladi is a coming of age story about friendships, relationships, unity, failure, success, love, and courage.
