‘Pawri’ girl has responded to the trolls drawing comparisons between her and ACCA topper

Zara Naeem Dar, a Pakistani student, recently scored the highest marks in the financial reporting exam of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), conducted in December last year. She was declared a global prize winner and lauded by the government of Pakistan in an Instagram post.

However, news of Dar’s achievement did not travel nearly as fast and effervescently as Dananeer Mobeen’s ‘pawry’ video, which went viral last week. Following this, Twitterati drew parallels between the two ladies, questioning the priorities of Pakistanis who preferred popularising an Instagram influencer as opposed to a prodigy.

There were a numbered few, who refrained from comparisons after understanding that both Dar and Mobeen’s abilities catered to two separate segments of society. But, netizens still questioned whether the 19-year-old has done anything significant to begin with.

Responding to them, the social media sensation took to her Instagram stories on Wednesday, writing, “Izzat or zillat sirf Allah ke haath men hai, jisko chahay jab de (Honour and dishounor is in the hands of God, it is upto Him who he blesses).” She added, “Koi kisi ka naseeb us se nahi cheen sakta, dusron ki qaamiyabi or khushi men khush hona seekhen (No man can steal another man’s destiny, so learn to be happy in the happiness of others).” Mobeen concluded, “Your good intentions will work in your own favour tomorrow. Thank you for all your love, I’m nothing without it.”

Mobeen shot to fame after a video of her quirky representation of ‘burgers upon visiting the Northern areas of Pakistan’ took social media by storm. Her clip transcended borders and to everyone's amusement, turned into a song courtesy of Indian content creator Yashraj Mukhate. Her now remixed video, garnered over 10 million views in just two days, and has since been recreated by both Pakistani and Indian celebrities, including the likes of Shahid Kapoor and Randeep Hooda, among many others.
