The main accused in the Mumbai attacks case, Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, filed a petition against Rehman Malik for giving incorrect statements regarding the case.
The court issued the notice to the Interior Minister for the statements he made in Thimpu, Nepal during the Saarc Conference.
(Read: “'Pakistan will send judicial commission to probe Mumbai attacks'”)
During the conference, Malik stated that the government has formed a judicial commission, which would travel to Mumbai for further investigations into the Mumbai attacks.
Lakhvi’s counsel said no such judicial commission has been formed yet. Lakhvi, meanwhile, sent an application for the formation of a commission regarding the case.
The court has reserved its verdict on this matter.

@antony: What you have suggested is the only way out to tackle this extra-ordinary problem to safeguard the sovereignity and security of the Indian Republic. Most of the meetings of the JuD chief are well publicised that can be handled by a covert operation or direct air bombardment. Any retaliation should be met with precision bombarding of terrorists training centres in Pakistan which are clearly scanned and earmarked by our sattelites.
@antony: Raw and mossad already caught red handed during the incident, everyone in media world how this Mumbai attacks occurs. First try to find the killer of police inspector who were investigating the blast, or try to find your own grown right wings terrorists then comment here. This message also to my Indian friend, first clean your own house then look for neighbours!
@Abdullah u r too innocent. In Pakistan their are some holy cows including Judges, Army and LeJ/SSP.
Why do you fear Mirza if court decides on merit that Zaki ur Rehman Lakhvi should be released that we should accept the verdict. We should not dream that courts should decide what we like or need. If he is innocent that there is no point to keep him behind bars. Media cannot decide what is right or wrong. Courts are independent and we should give them chance to decide on the matter and both sides (India and Pakistan) should accept whatever the result may be. And this case is becoming extra prolonged. If the accused are guilty they should get the punishment but if not then they must be released as it is violation of human rights to keep an accused behind bars without any solid proof.
IF Lakhvi is released without any prosecution and let scot free , I as a moderate indian will like Indian spy agencies to do a mossad in pakistan and kill the criminals.. But I hope Pakistan does not go to that extent . Believe a normal indian voice .If you dont punish 26/11 perpetrators , dont expect any progress on water treaty ,border or visa extensions.
You mean that Malik was caught saying something that wasn't correct? I doubt that's a surprise to anyone in Pakistan let alone India.
