MANSEHRA:

Traffic police of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's Mansehra district have barred female students and women from sitting in front seats of school vans after parents complained that their children were being harassed by drivers.

Police sources told Express News that the parents complained that the students sitting on the front seat of the vehicles, especially vans, were being harassed by the drivers because the front cabin of the van is separated from the rest of the vehicle and other passengers.

They said that the parents were worried that windows of the vehicles are also covered with shades.

Acting upon the complaints, a ban has been imposed on placing female students in the front seats of school vans and other vehicles.

The drivers involved in the violation will be fined and may face legal action.

SP Transport Mansehra Jamil Akhtar was called to take his version on the matter but contact could not be established.
