The South judicial magistrate directed on Saturday the accused in a case pertaining to the suicide of a female doctor, M*, to undergo DNA tests after the investigation officer (IO) told the court that the accused had failed to appear for the tests despite being notified multiple times.
During the hearing of the case at Karachi City Court, the IO presented a report to the court, moving it to direct the accused, Waqas and Junaid, to undergo DNA tests.
He said the final challan couldn't be presented in the case until the accused underwent DNA tests.
At this, the court directed the accused to undergo DNA tests and granted an extension of five days to the IO for submitting the final challan.
The doctor had shot herself in the head at her residence in Gizri on August 18. Her family called the Madadgar-15 police and she was rushed to the hospital in an injured condition, but later succumbed to her wounds.
