Skin care is a long term investment and there are very few beauty tools which show results instantly. Beauty products are a hit or miss, what works for others doesn’t necessarily mean it will work for you. Eyelash curlers if used properly can make a huge difference. An eyelash curler if used correctly can make a good difference. It can instantly lift your lashes making your eyes look wider and more awake than a solid eight hour sleep ever could.

It’s very important to see the type of eyelash curler which works for you. Not all are created equally and can give the best result. But even with the best lash curler if not used properly might not give you the best results which is why it’s important to make sure to follow the below mentioned steps in order to achieve your desired results.

An eyelash curler if used correctly is not damaging to your eye or eyelashes. A light tug is normal when using an eyelash curler but it’s not supposed to be painful. It’s important to keep your hand still when using an eyelash curler and to clean it with an alcoholic swab after use. One should use an eyelash curler before applying mascara so the mascara doesn’t stick to the curler and the lashes don’t break.

How to use an eyelash curler

Clean the curler

Before using the curler make sure there is no built up dirt or leftover mascara stuck to it. It’s safe to clean it thoroughly and let it dry before using it.

Give outer lashes an extra lift

Pull the lash curler out a little bit, turning your wrist and the curler towards your nose and clamping again making sure the outer edges of the lash line get a secondary curl to get them up higher.

Apply mascara

To set the lift in place, apply mascara. Just the way you apply hair spray to set the hair in place. If you notice the curl falling after your mascara has fully dried, you can carefully, gently clamp the curler on your coated lashes: just be careful, since mascara will stick to the tool.

Don’t use a worn off curler

Eyelash curlers aren’t the kind of product you can keep forever and never replace. Over time, the pads that help curl your lashes wear out, and you’ll notice your curl isn’t quite as nice. You can buy replacement pads for some eyelash curlers so that you can keep your curler for the long haul, while others might require buying a whole new lash curler.
