ISLAMABAD:

The participants of a seminar called upon academia to play an active role for the Kashmir cause, a statement said on Thursday.

The speakers of the seminar held to mark the Kashmir Solidarity Day at International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) expressed wholehearted support for the Kashmiri people’s struggle for their right to self-determination under the United Nations resolutions.

They suggested that dedicated research centres should be established at the universities to hold interdisciplinary research on the liberation struggle of the Kashmiri people against the occupation forces in the Illegally Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

The speakers paid tribute to the courageous people of IIOJK, noting that they remained steadfast in their resolve despite lockdown, curfew and communication blackout since August 2019.
