LAHORE:

Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Inam Ghani has issued orders to set up Investigation Support Units in the SP Investigation Offices of all the districts. The orders were issued during a high level meeting chaired by him at CPO on Thursday.

Ghani said the staff deployed in these support units would work to obtain other required details including information from the Criminal Records Office and other relevant sources and provide these to the concerned investigating officer in accordance with the outlined SOPs.

“This would help the investigating officers bring cases to a logical conclusion as soon as possible,” he added.

The meeting was attended by the Additional IG Investigation Fayyaz Ahmed, DIG Hussain Habib and other senior officers.
