Shaan Shahid requests late father to keep his mother happy in heaven

Actor pens emotional note for his late legendary parents, Riaz Shahid and Neelo, hoping their love story never ends

Legendary Pakistani star Neelo Begum passed away on Saturday after a prolonged illness, her son and actor Shaan Shahid announced on social media. "It is with the saddest of heart I share the departure of my mother as she has gone to her creator .may Allah blesses her," the Waar star had shared on Twitter.

On Tuesday, three days after her demise, the Operation 021 star took to Twitter again and shared a memorable photo of his parents, penning an emotional note for both Riaz Shahid, his late legendary filmmaker father and Neelo, his iconic actor mother.

“Together,” he wrote, “May you always be together in the gardens of heaven. Dad, she is all yours [now]. Keep her happy as she cherished every moment that she spent with you. Be happy go on long walks you have so much to talk about as the separation lasted 48 years. May your love story never end.”

Following this on Wednesday, Shaan shared another adorable photo of his baby self with his late mother and wrote, “When I lost my father you held me like a father. When I walked, I walked in your footsteps. When I ran, you were always there at the finish line smiling. What you said became law for me. You started my journey and where you looked became my destination.”

Neelo married director Riaz after converting to Islam, which is when she changed her name. Her popularity peaked in 1960, when she showed her acting prowess in several films including Miss, Ezra, Zarqa, Banjaran Betty, Dachi, Jidar, Sher Di Bachi and Nagan Nets.
