Over 700 new Covid cases reported in Sindh
Coronavirus claims six more lives in province
As many as 774 more Covid-19 cases and six coronavirus-related deaths were reported in Sindh on Saturday, according to a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s House on the day.
The CM said in the statement that following the detection of new cases and recent fatalities, the infection tally in the province had increased to 246,463, and the coronavirus death toll to 3,992.
According to the CM, of the new cases, 509 were detected in Karachi, 51 in Hyderabad, 38 in Jamshoro, 15 in Ghotki, 14 in Khairpur and as many in Sujawal, 12 in Tando Allahyar, 11 each in Matiari and Kashmore-Kandhkot, nine each in Sanghar, Umerkot and Badin, eight in Qambar-Shahdadkot, six in Shaheed Benazirabad and as many in Tando Muhammad Khan, five in Shikarpur, four in Jacobabad, three in Sukkur, two each in Mirpurkhas and Naushero Feroze and one each in Dadu and Thatta.
Besides, the CM said, 743 more Covid-19 patients had recuperated in Sindh, lifting the total number of recoveries in the province to 224,101.
This leaves 18,343 actives cases, he said, adding that of the infected persons in the province, 17,461 were in home isolation, 15 in isolation centres and 867 in hospitals. The CM said among the patient under treatment, 792 were critically ill, with 81 on ventilators.
The CM appealed to citizens to follow pandemic-relate standard operating procedures to curb the spread of the contagion.
