The postmortem report of Waqas Gujjar, a citizen who was killed by patrolling police personnel for not stopping his car, has indicated that he was tortured before being shot.
The board which conducted the postmortem exam released the report on Thursday.
According to the postmortem report issued by DHO Dr Ataul Manaam, DMO Dr Zafar Iqbal and Surgeon Junaid Misbah, Waqas Gujjar was shot in the abdomen.
The bullet had passed through his body resulting in his death within five minutes of injury. He reportedly passed away due to excessive blood loss.
The report also mentions obvious signs of torture. He was hit on the nose, forehead, between the ears, and knees with the butt of the rifles before being shot.
Irked by the poor performance, Punjab IGP Inam Ghani suspended SSP Patrol Chaudhry Farooq Handal and DSP Faisalabad Naveed Murtaza Cheema from their posts due to poor supervision.
