VC discusses cooperation in Desert Jeep Rally with TDCP

BAHAWALPUR:

During a meeting with Managing Director of Punjab Tourism Development Corporation Tanveer Jabbar at his office,

Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) Vice Chancellor Prof Athar Mahboob has said that the institution is playing a vital role in promoting tourism in accordance with the policies of the federal government.

During a meeting with Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) Managing Director Tanveer Jabbar, he said a Tourism Management Department has been set up where a degree programme has been introduced. Similarly, the IUB Tourism Directorate has been set up for the long-term promotion of tourism.

Dean Faculty of Management Sciences Prof Dr Jawad Iqbal, Head of Department of Tourism Management Imran Rashid, Deputy Registrar Hostels Salman Qureshi and Deputy Manager Events Fayyaz Ahmed were also present on the occasion.

It was decided that the IUB, district administration, Punjab Tourism Development Corporation and Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry would extend full cooperation in organising the Cholistan Desert Jeep Rally. A special bus service will be run for the convenience of students and tourists on the occasion. Teachers and students of Performing Arts Society and Tourism Development Society will take full part in the activities. During the meeting, a proposed memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Punjab Tourism Development Corporation and the IUB was also discussed.
