No visa fee for visitors from Malaysia, NA told

Whereas, Kuala Lumpur is charging Rs12,500 fee for Pakistani applicants

The National Assembly was informed on Tuesday that Pakistan was not charging any visa fee from the visitors who came from Malaysia whereas Kuala Lumpur had imposed a fee of Rs12,500 for the Pakistani applicants.

Responding to the call-attention notice in the NA session, Parliamentary Secretary on Interior Shaukat Ali noted that if anyone overstayed in Malaysia they were charged Rs4,500.

The secretary further observed that the visa of Pakistan had been made online.

He said the visa extension fee had also been made online and anyone willing to overstay in Pakistan would have to pay service charges amounting to $20 and pay the fee.

Parliamentarian Sher Akbar Khan pointed out that Malaysia was charging Rs4,500 from the people who wanted an extension in their visa.

The deputy speaker sent the matter to the committee concerned.
