PTI to appear before ECP’s scrutiny panel today

ISLAMABAD:

The scrutiny committee of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has summoned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and petitioner Akbar S Babar in the foreign funding case on Tuesday (today).

The panel will review the objections raised by Babar over the documents submitted by the ruling party.

Both the petitioner and the respondent have been asked to appear before the scrutiny committee at 11 in the morning.

Last week, the examination body had ended the meeting after Babar had expressed his lack of confidence on the panel over “unverified” documents submitted by the PTI.

Later, the ECP had directed the scrutiny committee to continue its proceedings.
