70 BAP members file applications for Senate ticket

12 Balochistan seats up for grabs

Seventy members of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) have filed applications in the party secretariat for the upcoming Senate elections.

Founding leader Saeed Ahmed Hashmi, general secretary Manzoor Ahmed Kakar, Ejaz Sanjrani, Sarfraz Bugti Hussain Islam, Dinesh Kumar and others are among the applicants.

It is pertinent to mention that party tickets will be issued by Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan and a five-member advisory council comprising provincial ministers Sardar Muhammad Saleh Bhootani, Nawabzada Tariq Magsi, party chief organiser Mir Jan Muhammad Jamali, Senator Naseebullah Baazi and founding leader Hashmi.

According to sources within the BAP, the party has received applications from candidates for 12 vacant Senate seats from Balochistan.

Out of the 70 candidates, 10 have submitted their applications for 2 technocrat seats whereas 14 women are contesting for the two reserved seats for women.
