In the past 13 years the province has witnessed record corruption under the patronage of the incumbent Sindh chief minister, said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MPA Haleem Adil Shaikh on Sunday.
According to a statement issued by Shaikh's office on the day, addressing a press conference in Gulshan-e-Umair society he said, "Our Tabdeeli Express is now chugging towards Sindh with full speed and corrupt Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah would be soon shown the door."
Referring to the CM's letter to the premier - a copy of which was shared by Federal Shipping and Maritime Affairs Minister Ali Haider Zaidi r on Saturday, Shaikh said that the CM should answer why a megacity like Karachi has been reduced to a garbage dump.
Shaikh, who is also the party's nominee for opposition leader in Sindh Assembly, levelled corruption allegations at Shah and the provincial education and labour minister, Saeed Ghani. He added that the latter was also asking questions of Zaidi.
Shaikh was flanked by PTI's parliamentary leader in assembly Bilal Ahmed Ghaffar, MPA Khurram Sher Zaman and the party's candidate for the upcoming PS-88 by-polls, Jansher Junejo.
Prevention of corruption and corrupt practices
"The PPP is doing hooliganism in Malir but the people of Malir have welcomed the PTI," claimed Shaikh. Besides, he said, that FIRs are lodged when questions are asked about the alleged corruption at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases. "The PPP is now a falling wall and it needs just one push."
The CM is involved in record corruption in every sector, chimed in Ghaffar, adding that there was illegal development work being initiated in PS-104 Karachi East-VI constituency, where Ghani was elected from.
Zaman also censured the CM over corruption and bad governance in the province. "If the chief minister is not responsible for corruption and bad governance in Sindh then who is responsible for all this mess?" he asked, adding that the PPP has been in power in the province for the past 13 years and would be held accountable for looting taxpayers' money. "[PPP Chairperson] Bilawal would have to tell people when this mess in Sindh is [to be] cleaned."
Claiming that the PTI is the choice for Sindh's people, Shaikh said that former president and MNA Asif Ali Zardari, who is the PPP co-chairperson, was elected from Nawabshah, Bilawal was elected MNA Larkana, and the CM was elected to the provincial assembly from Sehwan, but all three of these districts are without basic facilities.
Meanwhile, Junejo claimed that the PTI would win from PS-88 Malir and would "rid Malir of corrupt people".
