Shonda Rhimes’s period Bridgerton, starring Phoebe Dynevor and Rege-Jean Page, is set to return to our screens with a second season, Netflix announced on Thursday. The streaming service shared clips from the first season captioned, “Second season is coming.”

The series is produced by Shonda Rhimes, who is known for Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal. However, Bridgerton is based on the novel series by Julia Quinn, depicting the regency era of London, a certain period where debutantes are presented at court. The first season aired in December 2020 and trended for weeks worldwide. The eight-episode series is currently ranked under top 10 on Netflix.

Soon after it’s initial release, Bridgerton became the talk of the town as the chemistry between Daphne Bridgerton and Duke of Hastings Simon Basset swooned us off our feet. Rhimes is not only busy with the successful series but also an upcoming project titled Inventing Anna, which is due this year.

Based on the New York Magazine article "How Anna Delvey Tricked New York’s Party People" by Jessica Pressler, Inventing Anna will be based on a 20-year-old Russian lady named Anna Sorokin who is busy rebranding as Anna Delvey, a wealthy heiress with an extravagant and fashionable lifestyle.
