ABBOTABAD:

The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Abbottabad ordered to shift Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa assembly member Faisal Zaman to jail on judicial remand after the completion of six days of physical remand.

Zaman was under trial for the murder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) provincial deputy general secretary Malik Tahir Iqbal and his friend councilor Sardar Gul Nawaz.

He allegedly ordered hired guns to kill Iqbal over political enmity.

ATC, on the request of Hazara Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), had granted a four-day physical remand on January 12 which was completed on January 16. The CTD then again requested two more days of remand period which was accepted by the ATC.

After the completion of those two days, the accused of the double murder case was presented before the ATC on Tuesday. Previously, the MPA was on bail before arrest, however, police arrested him when a murder suspect informed that he killed Tahir Iqbal on Zaman’s instructions who promised to pay him Rs2 million.
