Alia Bhatt hospitalised due to exhaustion amid shoot

Actor caught up in SLB’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’

Alia Bhatt has been quite busy ever since her Ranthambore vacation on New Year’s Eve, as she has been spotted on the sets of upcoming biopic Gangubai Kathiawadi time and time again. Unfortunately, according to latest media reports, the actor had to be hospitalised on Sunday because of fatigue and exertion, said Pinkvilla.

 

The Gully Boy star was suffering from nausea and acid reflux. Luckily, Bhatt recovered soon enough and was discharged the same day. She is said to have returned to the sets of Bhansali’s biopic the very next day.

The upcoming biopic is one of the most talked-about films of the year. Gangubai Kathiawadi has been creating a lot of buzz ever since its initial announcement. It is being helmed by none other than Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the cinematic-guru of Bollywood.

Previously, the real life Gangubai’s son Babuji Rawji Shah had filed a case against film-maker, as well as Bhatt, for alleged misrepresentation in the film. Bhatt will be seen in a titular role of Gangubai, a young girl sold into prostitution by her boyfriend Ramnik Lal who becomes the madam of the brothel in Kamathipura, Mumbai, entertaining gangsters as her clients.

Despite the legal challenges filed against Bhansali, the film is set to release around Diwali this year.
