The Aziz Bhatti Police claimed to have arrested an extortionist on Sunday and to have found weapons in his possession. The nabbed suspect is accused of attempted murder, extortion and other major crimes.
According to East SSP Sajid Sadozai, the suspect, Muhammad Ayub, barged into the office of Crown Builders in Bahadurabad with his four accomplices on December 7, 2021, and threatened the builder. The suspect demanded Rs5 million in extortion money, said the SSP, adding that the case against Ayub was registered at New Town Police Station.
Sadozai further said that the police have the CCTV footage of the incident.
