‘Govt to subsidise sunflower cultivation’

Agriculture director says Rs5,000 per acre would be given to each grower

FAISALABAD:

Punjab government had announced to provide a subsidy of Rs5,000 per acre to each sunflower cultivator, stated Agriculture Director Chaudhry Abdul Hameed on Monday.

“Sunflower is an important and cash crop which will not only meet the domestic food requirements but also play a vital role in mitigating financial sufferings of the growers.”

Speaking to APP, the agriculture director added that the provincial government had launched awareness programmes for sunflower growers to get bumper crop through better cultivation and use of modern production technology.
