Three persons including a woman were killed while 12 passengers including six women were seriously injured during a vehicle collision in Khurrianwala on Monday.
Rescue 1122 said the accident occurred when a speeding coach collided head on with a wagon and a motorcyclist on Sheikhupura Road in Khurrianwala.
As per the details, 41-year-old Muqaddas Bibi, the wife of Taj Din and motorcyclist Adeel, Hafeez collided head on with a passenger coach and a wagon near Khurrianwala Main Chowk after the brakes of the coach failed.
The accident claimed lives of motorcyclist Adeel and van driver Javed while passengers Zahid Bibi, Bilquis Bibi, Allah Rakha, Shumaila Bibi, Saleem, Babar, Saima Bibi, Tanzeela Bibi, Irshad Bibi, Tahir, Ashfaq and another sustained serious injuries.
Rescue 1122 teams reached the spot soon after the incident and retrieved the bodies of the deceased and handed them over to the police.
The injured were shifted to a hospital where they were undergoing treatment. The police had started investigation after seizing the vehicles.
Road accidents involving multiple deaths were on the rise across Punjab.

Reportedly, 35-year-old Allah Ditta son of Khadim, 13-year-old Hashim son of Ashfaq, and 32-year-old Razia Bibi daughter of Khadim, residents of Toba Tek Singh Chak No 183GB were going to Rajana from Samundri on a motorcycle when the speeding bus hit it.
The victims suffered fatal injuries on impact. Allah Ditta and Hashim died on the spot while Razia Bibi was shifted to Samundri Hospital in critical condition, where she succumbed to the wounds.
The driver was allegedly speeding and lost control over the vehicle, which resulted in the accident.
On January 6, six people including three of a family were killed in separate road accidents in Multan and Muzaffargarh.
The accident took place on M5 motorway passing through Jalalpur Pirwalla. The unfortunate family was travelling from Lahore to Karachi when it fell prey to the fatal accident early in the morning.
The deceased victims were identified as 35-year-old Awais Butt, son of Basheer Butt, 34-year-old Kiran, wife of Awais Butt, and 22-year-old Ahmad, son of Abdullah.
Motorway DSP Faisal Faraz reached the spot soon after getting information of the accident. The dead bodies as well as the injured victims were shifted to Multan Nishtar Hospital.
