People voted for transparency, says CM

Vows to not allow hindrance in development process

LAHORE:

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that no one will be allowed to create any hindrance in the process of development being carried out under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

“People have elected transparency through their votes, not corruption. The opposition is not a threat for the government as this unnatural alliance is fading away with time,” he said in a statement issued on Sunday, apparently referring to the Pakistan Democratic Movement. “The hollow slogan of ‘Vote Ko Izzat Do’ has died its own death. The negative approach of opposition parties has diminished their remaining credibility among the people,” he added.

The chief minister accused the opposition of trying to sabotage national unity for vested interests. “The opposition has compromised national interests and has exhibited irresponsibility even in critical circumstances. Practically, the position of the opposition has been zero as it was making hue and cry and did nothing for the people,” he said.

Buzdar claimed that people were fed up with politicians having double standards. “The PTI leadership understands the difficulties of the people. This is not the time for point scoring. The opposition’s cheap politics of creating chaos will not work anymore. Those who have false claims have been exposed in front of people,” he said.
