18-year-old bride killed after six months of marriage

The victim’s father filed a report against the husband, mother-in-law, and father-in-law

A newly-wed teenage wife was allegedly shot dead by her in-laws in the Dhok Chaudhriyan area on Monday.

Police have arrested the husband, Adnan, mother-in-law, and father-in-law of the 18-year-old Humera on murder charges and abetment.

The victim’s father filed a report against the husband, mother-in-law, and father-in-law at the Airport police station.

He told the police that her daughter had married Adnan six months earlier, however, the husband was abusive and often fought with his daughter. The complainant said he urged his son-in-law to abstain from domestic violence.

The victim’s father was informed by the police that his daughter had been shot dead and her body had been brought to a hospital for an autopsy. He told the police that she had complained that Adnan used to beat her and threatened to divorce her if she told her parents.
