‘India targeting peace in Pakistan’

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has said that anti-state forces, including India are targeting peace in Pakistan.
“This is not the time for politics. It is the time to deal with the enemies of the country,” he stressed while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of a water filtration plant at the National Highway and Motorways Police (NH&MP) Training College.
He warned of retribution and strict accountability in all institutions run by the state.
Provincial Ministers Ejaz Alam, Mian Khalid Mahmood, NH&MP IG Dr Syed Kaleem Imam, NH&MP Training College DIG Mehboob Aslam and Members of National and Provincial Assemblies were also present on the occasion.
The governor appreciated the NH&MP, deeming it an excellent institution adding that the government wants to ensure such merit and transparency in all institutions to end corruption.
“The government aims to provide clean drinking water to all the people and for this Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority is working with vigor under my supervision,” he claimed.
“This newly installed filtration plant would provide clean drinking water to at least 1,000 people,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion, NH&MP IG Dr Syed Kaleem Imam said that with the provision of clean water, a large number of people including the training staff would be saved from deadly water-borne diseases such as hepatitis.
Towards the end of the ceremony, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar was given an honorary shield by the Motorway Police while the governor handed over a certificate of appreciation to the DIG of NH&MP Training College.
