Senate Committee on Interior on Monday directed Islamabad police to complete investigation into the gunning down of Osama Sati, a 22-year old student, by cops of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and submit a report within 10 days.
The committee also strongly condemned the cold blooded murder of 11 innocent members of the Hazara community.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari observed that justice will be delivered to the families of slain Osama Nadeem and Hazara community members.
DIG Islamabad Police Waqaruddin briefed the committee on the killing of Osama. Committee chairman Rehman Malik noted that the killing of innocent civilians by the police was regrettable.
Malik stated that incidents of firing bullets at a car in the past too had taken place. He called for an exemplary punishment to the killers of Osama.
Meanwhile, SAPM Zulfi Bukhari attended the Rasme Qul of Osama. Speaking on the occasion, Bukhari said that the premier himself was looking into the case. “I promise that Osama’s family will get justice, there will be a judicial inquiry at the request of the family,” he added.
