SHC directs cops to recover missing girl in two days
The Sindh High Court issued notices to the relevant authorities on Monday over a plea seeking the recovery of a missing teenage girl.
The petitioner, Mudassir Hussain, maintained that his daughter was kidnapped by unidentified persons from a rickshaw near Landi Kotal roundabout. According to the petitioner, he was told by Taimooria Police that the case falls in the jurisdiction of Hyderi Police Station, but Hyderi Police referred him to Manghopir Police Station.
The petitioner informed the court that he managed to lodge a complaint for the recovery of his daughter at Hyderi Police Station after efforts spanning over two days. However, the police aren't cooperating for the recovery of his daughter, he maintained.
The court directed the police to recover the abducted 15-year-old girl within two days and issued notices to Sindh IGP, Sindh Rangers DG, the provincial home department and other parties seeking their replies by January 14.

Meanwhile, the court issued notices on Monday to Sujawal SSP over a woman's plea seeking protection from her former husband.
A bench, headed by Justice Iqbal Kalhoro, was hearing the plea.
The petitioner's counsel maintained that his client was receiving threats from her former husband. The counsel informed the court that the ex-husband divorced his client six months ago.
At this, Justice Kalhoro remarked that the counsel's statement contradicted the plea that claimed that the petitioner was divorced two years ago. The court will seek affidavits from the witnesses of the divorce, remarked the judge.
The bench issued notices to the Sujawal SSP and directed the police to take action in accordance with the law. Bail granted Separately, the high court accepted the interim pre-arrest bail plea of the accused in the reference pertaining to illegal allotment of an amenity plot in Al Habib Cooperative Housing Society.
The petitioner contended in his plea that he is a private person who has been nominated in the reference based on mala fide. The court directed the accused, Muhammad Mehtab Alam, to submit a surety of Rs300,000 and granted prearrest bail.
