RAWALPINDI:

Owing to a plethora of encroachments, the traffic on Pindora Chungi on Saidpur Road that connects Islamabad and Rawalpindi remained jammed throughout Sunday.

Meanwhile, the unauthorised settlements of footpaths between Siddiqui Chowk and Pindora Chungi have made have even the movement of pedestrians difficult.

The footpaths have been occupied by the shopkeepers and vendors who have set up kiosks without permission.

Meanwhile, the improper roadside parking adds insult to the injury and the traffic around Pindora Chungi remains congested during working hours.

Fights between the motorists on parking and issues have become a routine.

Locals including Masood Waqas, Qazi Javed, and Haji Tauqir have called for the government to construct an underpass on Pindora Chowk to ease traffic flow.
