An anti-drug court on Saturday will hear the drug trafficking case against former law minister Rana Sanaullah.
The court ordered the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) to summon all persons involved in the drug case as witnesses against the former law minister. The court summoned six accused, including Rana Sanaullah, for criminal proceedings.
Anti-drug court judge Shakir Hassan will hear the case.
ANF has filed challans against Rana Sanaullah, Usman Ahmed, Sabteen, Akram, Umar Farooq and Amir Rustam. In the challan, Sanaullah has been accused of smuggling drugs in Pakistan and abroad.
The narcotics force noted that Sanaullah was stopped near Sakhi Sarwar and 15kgs of heroin was recovered. It said Sanaullah's guards clashed with ANF officials.
In addition, the ANF said the former law minister admitted to being involved in drug trafficking for the last few years.
"Rana Sanaullah used to take drugs from Afghans in Faisalabad and supply them abroad. He said his vehicle was not checked so he used to smuggle drugs in his personal vehicle," the challan said.
