Celebs hope 2021 is a harbinger of good health

Contrary to previous New Year wishes and resolutions, our celebs have their priorities in check this year and it shows

The year 2020 has been detrimental for many, and if you’re reading this right now, it is because you survived it. So whether we ended it on a good note or not, what really matters is that we were able to live through it. And that calls for celebration – indoors, of course!

But as we enter a new year and a new decade altogether, what many are hoping for, is something they may have always taken from granted; health.

That’s right! The difference between majority New Year resolutions this time around was that they focused on a hard-earned lesson. As 2020 took the lives of the immune-compromised one after another, we realised that if we are not healthy or alive, then everything we’ve made for ourselves counts for nothing.

So celebrity New Year greetings this time around were a tad-bit different too. “Happy New Year everyone, may 2021 be the harbinger of good health and happiness for all of us,” tweeted actor Maya Ali.

“Let’s make this a better and healthier year for all of us. Let’s save our planet and recycle,” advised Ahmad Ali Butt.

Singer Ali Zafar shared an image of flowers writing, “Wherever and whoever you are, If you’ve had a tough year, accept these flowers from me and @AyeshaFazli with prayers and the best of wishes for the coming year. Know that the next year is going to super awesome!”

Armeena Khan made a prayer for those lost amid 2020, “To all the loved ones we lost in 2020 to Covid-19. Let’s not forget them. May their souls R.I.P #GoodBye2020”

Whereas Adnan Siddiqui hoped this year would help heal the world. “May the #NewYear heal the world with love, peace and humanity. May 2021 is kinder to us, enriching everyone with blessings.

While Pakistan’s Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Malala Yousafzai, shared a message looking beyond her bedroom window. “Happy New Year, may 2021 be a year of hope, healing and happiness for everyone. Let’s move forward with a firm commitment to a healthier, safer and more educated world.”

Good riddance, 2020. Please be good, 2021.
