Robert Pattinson and Matt Reeves at odds on the sets of 'The Batman'

The director's style is said to have been 'overbearing' on the course of the shoot

It appears that things have heated up on the sets of Matt Reeves' upcoming film The Batman. Tensions between Reeves and the star of the film Robert Pattinson have gone high recently reported The Sun.

The publication that cited unnamed sources close to the matter revealed that Reeves's overbearing style of direction has made Pattinson reach a breaking point. Pattinson who had to take a break from shooting after being diagnosed with Covid-19 is said to have been left exhausted with Reeves's control freak kicking in.

The Lighthouse actor since returning had to do upwards of 50 takes inside the bulky Batman suit, leaving him, and the crew, exhausted. “Filming has been a gruelling process, especially for Robert, as Matt is such a perfectionist. He’ll insist on doing scenes over and over again and get bogged down in the tiny detail. Some­times it’s like he doesn’t know when to stop,” the unnamed source was quoted as saying. 

The source continued, “Matt has done block­busters before, but this is another level. Batman is arguably the most popular superhero of all and by the time the film is released it will be the Dark Knight’s first solo movie in ten years."

Adding on the source shared how Pattinson has experienced franchise films before. "Warner Bros can’t afford for the fanbase to be disappointed and have thrown £90million at the film. No one is denying that this is a high stakes production and that Matt is feeling the pressure to get it right. But Robert has had a tough time on these franchise films before. He hated Twilight by the time it wrapped, and the last thing anyone wants is for him to become jaded.”
