Four robbers in the garb of police entered a house in the federal capital and took away Rs50000 at gunpoint after overpowering the couple in the house here in Munir Town near Sanam Chowk.
The victims Nazir Ahmad lodged an FIR with the Koral Police Station, stating that he was present at his house along with his wife when four people, two of them wearing police uniforms and claiming to be policemen from the Koral Police Station, broke the main door and entered their house.
He said that they were handcuffed and taken to the Khana Pul area where they were released and the robbers escaped, taking money with them. He said that soon after entering the house the robbers started beating them and identified themselves as policemen.
“One of them said that he was Nadeem, an ASI in Rawalpindi police, and local police was also with him. Two men in uniform identified themselves as officials of Islamabad police and one of them said that his name was Basit head constable while the other one was a constable,” he informed, saying that they threatened him of dire consequences if anyone was informed about the robbery and they robbed them of Rs50000 too.
“I was threatened if anyone was informed about the incident then FIRs will be lodged against me,” he blamed.
DIG operation has ordered an investigation in the case after receiving the complaint.
